Studio lighting ensures that the light is movable and you can bring it where natural light normally cannot reach or is not sufficiently present.
With reflection screens and mirrors you can also do a lot to bring the light to places where you want it in a roundabout way. For example, studio lighting is much easier to take with you nowadays compared to the past thanks to batteries or portable generators to provide the necessary energy.
But there are also other atmospheric lighting and those are the old movable light sources such as candles, oil lamps and they always provide a warm atmospheric effect..
